Founded as Ridgewood School, a one-room portable, at 35th Ave SW and SW Juneau St as an annex to Jefferson School in 1922. Closed on October 2, 1939 and sold to the US Government on April 9, 1941. In September 1944, opened in a 12-room wooden building at 6760 34th Ave SW as High Point School. Acquired from the US Government by SPS in 1947. Addition built in 1953, site expanded to 5.64 acres in 1959, closed in June and demolished in summer 1987. Reopened in September 1988 at the same address in a new 20-classroom building.

High Point Annex, a four-room wood building at 2900 SW Graham St, was also opened in September 1948, acquired from the federal government in 1951, and closed in spring of 1972.
