Opened in September 1944 as annex to Georgetown. Operated as independent school 1945-1954. Purchased by school district in summer 1947. Name changed to Holgate on July 11, 1952. Operated as annex to Georgetown 1954-55. Closed as elementary school in June 1955, opened as Holgate Branch, Edison Technical. Also housed Holgate Temporary Cerebral Palsy School 1959-1960. Became Holgate Technical School in 1962, part of Seattle Community College in 1966, and was transferred to the State of Washington in 1967. Original building demolished and today site is owned by Mobile Crane Co.

Aircraft Branch was originally a chicken ranch and later acquired by the federal government. Buildings were erected and program began under Edison Technical School in 1949. In 1950, property was purchased by the district. In 1962 it became part of the new Holgate Technical School. In 1966, became part of Seattle Community College. 1967 was transferred to Washington State, and today it is the Duwamish Industrial Center, South Seattle Community College.
