“In 1956 & again in 1962, while serving as Assistant Superintendent in charge of elementary school administration for the Seattle Public Schools, I prepared at my own expense & for free distribution: 2 booklets of classroom stories originating in the Seattle Schools & sent to me by teachers & principals over a number of years. These booklets were so well received that, even though I retired in 1963, the stories continued to come in, as well as request for the booklets, the supply long since exhausted. This booklet is somewhat different. I have used some new stories but also some of my favorites from the previous books. I have also included a number of poems (rhymes, doggerel, verse) from my accumulation, mostly humorous. None of them are of my creation & for the most part the authorship is unknown to me. As a Tennessee friend of mine would say, ‘I hope this little collection will pleasure you.-- Kenneth E. Selby.
