Property was purchased in 1908 for Pleasant Valley Annex and opened in a portable building in 1912 as an annex to Lawton. It became Pleasant Valley school in 1922, closed in 1926, and the property was sold on May 9, 1941. Briarcliff School was opened at 3901 W Dravus Street in a 6-room expandable wood and concrete building on January 31, 1949 as an annex to Magnolia. An addition (Stoddard) opened in September. In 1951 it became an independent school and its Stoddard addition opened in October. 1952, Stoddard opened in April. 1978-1984 joined by Hawthorne students. From 1987-1989 it was a temporary site, then it was used for district storage until it was purchased by Lexington Fine Homes in 2003.
